Phase-Measuring Profilometry（PMP）is widely applied in various modern fields as it is with the advantages of high-precision measurement and non-contact. In a real application, the precision of PMP is limited by plenty of factors. Among these factors, Phase Shifting is an important factor that affect the precision. The keystone of the thesis is focus on the research of the basic principle of PMP in telecentric beam path, which include PMP's height calculation and phase calculation & expandedness, it mostly depicts Three Step Phase Shifting method, Four Step Phase Shifting method and N Step Phase Shifting method. It will be verified by MATLAB that pahse has an effect on mesurement precision of PMP at last.
