In my opinion, students shouldn't be required to do written homework. For those students who can study independently, they don't need compulsory homework because they will find exercises by themselves. Without written homework, they can better manage their own time for study. On the other hand, for lazy students, written homework is just meaningless. No matter how much homework you give them, they will never do. In order to finish their homework, they will just go online and find answers. If there isn't any related answer, they will go to Zhidao and ask others for help. Thus, it is unnecessary to give these students written homework. This will even increase the burden of teachers who put a lot of effort in setting questions.
