1. Throughout my journey of learning English, I have encountered numerous challenges.
2. Being from the southern region of China, I initially found it difficult to distinguish between nasal and non-nasal sounds, as they sounded identical in my dialect.
3. This led to a tough time differentiating between "night" and "light" at the outset.
4. Additionally, my poor memory posed a significant obstacle when I decided to expand my vocabulary.
5. English words seemed to slip away easily, and I could only remember them for a short period.
6. Despite these difficulties, I did not relent in my efforts to overcome them and eventually triumphed.
7. To address the issue of differentiating nasal sounds from non-nasals, I made a conscious effort to speak Mandarin every day.
8. I constantly reminded myself of the distinction between "night" and "light" whenever I engaged in English conversation.
9. Initially, this felt quite unnatural, but as I persevered, I graally became accustomed to speaking in this manner.
10. As for improving my memory, I abandoned mechanical memorization and experimented with various innovative techniques.
11. Ultimately, I discovered a highly effective method for me: memorizing English words by their stems and affixes.
