Eria microphylla, first described by Blume in the Bulletin of the Musée Botanique de Leiden and Batavia 2:184-1856, is an important species in botanical literature.
Later, Holttum included it in his work on Malaysia, where it can be found on page 357 of volume 1 in 1953.
Trichotosia microphylla, another name attributed to the species, is mentioned in Bijdr 7:343 by an author from 1825.
Kraenzl further contributed to the knowledge of Eria microphylla in the publication of Engler's Plant Repertory, specifically in part 45, section 50, and sub-section II.B.21, where it is listed on page 142 in 1911.
In 1982, Seidenf. included an illustration in his Opera Eot., with the species featured on page 14, figure 4.
The variant Eria dalatensis, which was originally attributed to Gagnep., is recognized in the Chinese High Plant Taxonomy, specifically in volume 5, page 709 of the 1976 edition, and also in the海南植物志, where it is listed on page 226 in 1977.
Finally, Z. H. Tsi and S. C. Chen contributed to the Acta Phytotaxonomica Sinica in 1995, with a detailed study in volume 33, issue 3, where they discussed the species on page 292.
