Elizabeth Bennet (Keira Knightley) and her sister Jane Bennet (Rosamand Parker), sister Mary Bennet (Dalula Lely), Katie Bennet (Kerry Mulligan) and Lydia Bennet (Gina Malone) are all sisters from small landlord families. Mrs. Bennet's greatest goal in life is to find the right man for all five of her daughters. Unfortunately, the second daughter, Elizabeth, can always find out 100 reasons for refusing to marry her mother.
When Mrs. Bennet heard that the neighbouring manor was rented by a wealthy bachelor and would come to spend the summer with his distinguished friends, she excitedly decided that it was a blessing for her daughters. The suitor was on the verge of coming, and things were going as she had expected.
The monotonous and slightly quiet life of the five sisters was accompanied by the arrival of wealthy single Handacy (Matthew McFadden) and his friend Gray, two young men. A beautiful love story full of pride and Prejudice unfolded after the healthy and upward Gray and the wealthy Darcy met the five golden flowers of the Bennet family in the town.
Elizabeth (Keira Knightley) is the most diligent of the five sisters. She is also a talented college student. She never considered marriage before graation. But when she met the handsome, cynical Gray and the wise businessman Darcy (Matthew McFadden), her judgment began to be tested. Because the wealthy son Darcy soon fell deeply in love with the beautiful Elizabeth after a brief exchange.

It is universally acknowledged that the eternal theme of Jane Austen’s novels is the choice people make for marriage partners,so is in Pride and Prejudice.Mrs.Bonnet had no other wish if her five daughters could get married as soon as possible with someone wealthy.At a dancing ball,it is obvious that Mr.Bingley could not help falling in love at the first sight with Miss Jane because of her stunning beauty.
Mrs.Benne was so excited that she could not hold her manner and declared publicly she would have a daughter married soon,which frightened Mr.Bingley away.Mr.Collins,a distance nephew of Mr.Bennet,came to ask a marriage to one of his cousins before Mrs.Bennet was able to get clear why Mr.Bingley left suddenly.
After receiving the hint from Mrs.Bennet that Jane already had an admirer,Mr.Collins turned to Elizabeth without wasting a minute and to Miss Charlotte Lucas two days later after refused by Elizabeth.It was difficult for Mrs.Bennet to recover herself as a result of the“deadly stupid” decision made by Elizabeth until she got the news that Lydia finally married Mr.Wickham,though the marriage was built on the basis of ten thousand pounds.

"Pride and Prejudice" is one of Jane Austen's most famous novels. Its old name is” first impression”, The story show the the British society's life in that time by describing the marriage problem. It is mainly describe the love story of Bennet ’s several daughters Mr. Bingley is newly from London and fall in love with the big daughter , Jan ,who is gentel and beautiful , his friend Darcy is sweet upon the second daughter Elizabeth. For some reasons prejudiced Elizabeth against Darcy , their marriage moves slowly . After a range of interesting troubles, the misunderstanding is finally removed . With Darcy overcomes his pride , and Elizabeth her prejudice ,they get together with each other finally . Through the describing of different marriage , Austin expresses her opinions of the marriage which is insist on the understanding to each other . To a certain extent , this novel is also reflectes the wish and ideal on the marriage independently for women in that time.
