have trouble in doing sth中的doing是动名词，跟时态没有关系。追答因为in事介词，其后要跟名词做宾语，如果是动词原形，就加ing形式，当名词用。

in 是介词，只能用动名词作宾语，即 in doing sth.

另如：

～have difficult in doing sth.
～have problem in doing sth.
