当然可能。下边是密歇根大学安娜堡分校机械工程系的录取要求。原文如下：

If you feel that your GRE or GPA is not strong enough, please know that the Graate Admissions Committee reviews the whole application when considering who to admit to the program. We are looking for students who are strong in at least three of the four areas below:

Average GPA in the 3.7 range or better on a 4.0 scale

GRE scores in the 80-90th percentile (Quantitative and Verbal): Please take the GRE revised General Test. Or if you previously took the GRE General Test, request ETS to send the scores to University code: 1839.

Strong letters of recommendation

Strong Statement of Purpose and Personal Statement (two separate essays are required).

这四项只要达成三项即可。GPA不行，还有GRE、牛推、个人陈述可以弥补。你申请的很可能不是密歇根，也不是机械工程，但道理是相通的。
