不是很清楚你具体是什么情况。学校的Petition需要教授签字吗？据我所知Petition允许是由Record Office决定的，教授一般而言没有决定权。 据我个人所知，当成绩出来之后，唯一可以改变成绩的方法是Retake the course。我个人不知道学校是否有权力允许教授以一次考试来更改学生的成绩。
我建议你把The lessons which到about manufacturing删掉，直接了当的告诉你的教授你需要什么。不过像这样的情况最好你能和教授面谈而不是以Email的形式。

Dear Professor Thomas A. Hamade,
I am one of your students of you （of you 删掉）. I’ve learnt（learned, learnt sounds informal)the course “Advanced Manufacturing Processes” on(delete) last term. The lessons which Professor Hamade taught are always vividly(vivid). The memory(impression) of your lesson is still fresh in my mind. And it also showed me a lot about manufacturing.
But, I’ve neglected the revision. It’s my fault. I have not passed the final exam and the make-up exam. I feel regretful. And, unfortunately, I can’t re-study(re-take) this course till(until, till is very informal) 2010.
The imminent problem is that I will graate in June this year. I would not be able to get the diploma if I have no chance to pass this course. It must bring about so many unthinkable difficulties in future.
So I file a petition for an exam before my graation. I hope Professor Hamade could give me a chance to retrieve my fault.
