范文：Great changes have taken place in my hometown. In the past, people live in a low house. Farmer planted crops with the help of animals. They worked very hard. Students had to study in very old school. The environment was very bad.

Now things have changes. People are living in tall buildings. People plant crops with the help of machines which can save lots of work. Students can study in a modern school.

我的家乡发生了巨大的变化。过去，人们住在矮房子里。农民在动物的帮助下种植庄稼。他们工作非常努力。学生们不得不在非常古老的学校学习。环境很差。现在情况有了变化。人们住在高楼里。人们在机器的帮助下种植庄稼，这可以节省很多工作。学生可以在现代学校学习。

英语翻译技巧：

第一、省略翻译法

这与最开始提到的增译法相反，就是要求你把不符合汉语，或者英语的表达的方式、思维的习惯或者语言的习惯的部分删去，以免使所翻译出的句子沉杂累赘。

第二、合并法

合并翻译法就是把多个短句子或者简单句合并到一起，形成一个复合句或者说复杂句，多出现在汉译英的题目里出现，比如最后会翻译成定语从句、状语从句、宾语从句等等。
