Queuing Theory-Based Researches on Bank Cashier Service Efficiency
Abstract
Long customer waiting lines in banking networks have now become a more and more serious problem across the banking instry. The basic purpose of solving the long waiting lines is to seek a balance point between the customer waiting cost and the increased operational cost incurred by banks’ increase in resources, and the prevailing concerns of the modern banking instry in terms of the operation management and marketing should be given to customer service and customer satisfaction.
The key to solving the long waiting lines lies in the service quality of commercial banks whose high quality services can satisfy both bank employees and customers, all of which are directed at obtaining the customers’ loyalty and a maximized banking profit. The long waiting lines at banks should be addressed with respect to the customers, banks and bank employees under the principles of overall considerations and systematic planning.
Starting with the introction of the queuing theory for the long waiting lines at banks and then the origins of and the current countermeasures being taken for the long waiting lines at banks, this paper concted analysis on the current waiting methods and came up with a new waiting strategy based on the queuing theory with the aim to address the long waiting lines at banks and improve customers satisfaction.
