During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, one of the five hegemonists in the Spring and Autumn Period, Jin Wengong, also known as Chonger, was forced to escape when he was 41 years old because of the dispute over the throne. Among the accompanying followers, there was a minister named Jie Zitui. 

When he saw that Chong Er was tired, he secretly cut a piece of meat from his thigh and made a bowl of broth for Chong Er to drink, which made Chong Er very touched. Later, Chonger ascended the throne. 

In order to find Jie Zitui, he did a foolish thing - set fire to the mountain, but unexpectedly burned him and his mother. Since then, in commemoration of Jie Zitui, Jin Wengong designated that day as "Cold Food Festival", which is now the Qingming Festival.

Qing Ming Festival, also called Tomb-Sweeping Day or Pure Brightness Day). It's a combination of sadness and happiness.
