1） ask what heppened to him that he did not come to school
2) ask whether he needs any help. For instance, if he is sick, does he need any medicine? or does he need someone to take him to a hospital?
3) ask him whether he needs help to catch up with his school work/ Does he need to see your class notes? Does he have problems with the homework
