And why do you have to write this anyway? Those who need to know it already know (this is an OLD and very popular technique), and those who don't know, probably don't need to know.

Note: A foreign gene is introced into the genetic makeup of an animal (usually mouse or rat). The gene of interest is first isolated, and designed so it carries specific DNA fragment, then injected into a fertilized egg. The method is as follows:

Inject estrogen in a female mouse to encourage the proction of large amount of mature eggs; fertilize the female mouse with a male; collect the eggs and inject the plasmid (I ASSUME THAT'S WHAT YOU USE) containing the gene of interest before mitosis occurs; the fertilized eggs are transplanted into the body of another female mouse, where they are allowed to grow.

In some of the fertilized eggs, the plasmids would insert themselves at a random site of a chromosome, thus becoming part of the DNA makeup of a mouse cell. Mice developed from this kind of egg will carry the gene of interest and thus become a transfected animal. Transfected animals are very useful in studying the function of a new gene and in upgrading the proction of certain proteins.

Transfected animals are therefore animals that have incorporated a foreign gene into its chromosome and capable of passing the gene of interest on to their offspring. In 1981, a foreign gene was introced into an animal embryo for the first time, thus creating the first instance of transfection. In 1982, transfected mouse was obtained. The gene of interest involved rat growth hormone, therefore the mice weighed twice its normal size, called "super mouse". After that, other transfected animals such as rabbit, sheep, pig, fish, insect, cow, chicken, goat, rat etc. were also created.

Because transfection is able to bypass sexual reproction, enabling us to introce genes into completed unrelated animals, it will lead to fundamental changes (IT ALREADY HAS DUDE!) in biological sciences research. Transfected animal can be used in a variety of fields, with great potential for application:

2、transfected animals can be used to build animal models for various diseases, thus aiding in the investigation of pathogenesis and the development of potential treatment strategies.

3、transfected animals can be used to improve the quality, therefore the economic yield, of certain farm animals, such as growth acceleration, greater lean body mass, better quality of meat, more efficient digestion of animal feeds, improved disease immunity (I HAVE NO CLUE HOW TO TRANSLATE THIS PART) etc. This is also important for animal protection, saving endangered animals from extinction. (THIS IS TOTAL GARBAGE BY THE WAY. TRANSFECTING ANIMAL TO PREVENT EXTINCTION IS AN ABOMINATION.)
