春天Spring
When daisies pied and violets blue
And lady-smocks all silver-white
And cuckoo-buds of yellow hue
Do paint the meadows with delight,
The cuckoo then, on every three,
Mocks married men; for thus sings he,
Cuckoo,
Cuckoo, cuckoo! Oh word of fear
Unpleasing to a married ear!
When shepherds pipe on oaten straws,
And merry larks are ploughmen’s clocks,
When turtles tread, and rooks, and daws,
And maidens bleach their summer smocks,
The cuckoo then, on every three,
Mocks married men; for thus sings he,
Cuckoo,
Cuckoo, cuckoo! Oh word of fear
Unpleasing to a married ear!
描出了一片广大的欣欢;
女郎们漂洗夏季的衣群;
The Soots Season
The soote season, that bud and bloom forth brings,
With green hath clad the hill and eke the vale;
给小丘着上了绿装,也染绿了山谷;
The nightingale with feathers new she sings;
刚长出新羽毛的小夜莺歌唱不歇;
The turtle to her make hath told her tale.
斑鸠向她的爱侣也吐露了心曲;
Summer is come, for every spray now springs;
The hart hath hung his old head on the pale;
雄鹿把旧犄角挂在篱头;
The buck in brake his winter coat he flings,
公羊把冬衣丢在林间;
The fishes float with new repaired scale;
长出新鳞的鱼儿浮在水面;
The adder all her sloughaway she slings,
小蛇也把她的旧皮完全蜕掉;
The swift swallow pursueth the flies small;
敏捷的燕子飞快地把小蝇捕捉;
The busy bee her honey now she mings.
忙碌的蜜蜂把新蜜调和;
Winter is worn, that was the flowers'bale.
And thus I see among these pleasant things,
Each care decays, and yet my sorrow springs.

Spring Goeth All in White
Spring goeth all in white,
Crowned with milk-white may; 山楂花冠乳白光;
in fleecy flocks of light,
o'er heaven the white clouds stray; 白云朵朵自来往;
white butterflies in the air; 粉蝶空中时蹁跹;
white daisies prank the ground; 廷命菊花饰郊原;
the cherry and hoary pear,
scatter their snow around.

Spring
Spring are not always the same.In some years,April bursts upon Virginia hills in one prodigious leap-and all the stage is filled at once,whole choruses of tulips,arabesques of forsythia,cadenzas of flowering plum.The trees grow leavws overnight.
In other years,spring tipoes in.It pauses,overcome by shyness,like my grandchild at the door,peeping in,cking out of sight,giggling in the hallway."I know you are out there,"I cry."Come in”And April slips into our arms.
The dogwood bud, pale green,is inlaid with russet markings.Within the perfect cup a score of clustered seeds are nestled.One examines the bud in awe:Where were those seeds a month ago?The apples display their milliner's scraps of ivory silk,rose-tinged.All the sleeping things wake it,feel it, crumble April in your hands.
Look to the rue anemone,if you will,or the pea patch,or to the stubborn weed that thrusts its shoulders through a city street.This is how it was,is now,and ever shall be, the world without end.In the serene certainty of spring recurring,who fear the distant fall?
