On April 23, The Chinese Navy celebrated its 70th birthday. Thirty-two warships (舰艇) and 39 aircraft (战机) from the Navy had a big party in Qing.Eighteen warships from 13 countries also came for the navy's birthday party.

China showed its new guided missile destroyer (导弹驱逐舰) for the first time. It's one of the largest destroyers in the world. It carries many new weapons.

First aircraft carrier / 我国第一艘航母：辽宁舰

It's about 300 meters long and 70 meters wide. It can hold 30 planes and 2,000 soldiers.

The Chinese Navy was born on April 23, 1949 . It had 20 ships at the beginning. Its job is to protect (保卫) China's seas. How big is it now? There are more than 700 ships and submarines (潜艇) in the Navy. The Chinese Navy is young and strong.

It attacks (攻击) enemy ships and planes. It can stay underwater for 60 to 80 days.

It has a nickname:"Flying shark". It can take off from and land on aircraft carriers.

It is used on water and land. It moves soldiers and tanks from ships to land.
