这里的after为介词，后面跟动名词短语。
课文原句是let the current carry them to the other side.
填空将其转为被动语态就是let themselves be carried by
原句是the only sound that could be heard was made by water...
No other ... than句型中than表示除了，意为“其它声音都听不到，只听到……”
that是指代sound
