In addition, it engages in coal processing and synthetic fuel proction activities in the eastern Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia; and in the provision of waterborne transportation, storage, and transfer services of coal and other dry-bulk commodities. Further, TECO Energy participates in independent power projects and electric distribution in Guatemala. The company was incorporated in 1899 and is headquartered in Tampa, Florida.
