分号 用以带替逗号，分隔句中已含逗号的部分, 列：She was determined to succeed whatever the cost；she would achieve her aim, whoever might suffer on the way. 或， 在正式书面语中，用以分隔两个主句，尤其是无连词的两个主句，列：The sun was already low in the sky； it would soon be dark. 破折号 在非正式英语中，用以代替冒号或分号，表示后面所说是对前面的总结或结论，列：Men were shouting, women were screaming, children were crying - it was chaos.(总结） You've admitted that you lied to me - how can i trust you again?（结论） 或，在单个使用与成对使用，用以分隔句中的评语或事后想到的补充说明，列：He knew nothing at all about it - or so he said.
