Baishen is a way of showing the respect to the spirit of nature ,spirit of their ancestors and local gods.(sometimes Buddha, Bodhisattva, and chinese local Taoism gods）.
Chinese people would often contribute some dishes (like toasted pork, chicken,fish ,fruit and vegetable, corns， wine and so on) to the gods they believe in.
